Octopath Traveler Review
1. Story and Plot Narrative: Octopath Traveler presents a unique narrative structure by focusing on the individual stories of eight distinct characters: Ophilia, Cyrus, Tressa, Olberic, Primrose, Alfyn, Therion, and H'aanit. Each character's story is compelling in its own right, offering a deep dive into their personal journeys and challenges. However, the lack of interaction between these characters outside of minor party banter left me feeling that the overall narrative was somewhat disjointed. The stories don't overlap meaningfully, which could have added a richer, more cohesive experience. Additionally, while there is a "heroes' quest" that supposedly ties these narratives together, it is relegated to a side quest, and I chose not to engage with it. This decision reflects my belief that such an overlap should have been integrated into the main storyline.
